About Me

I am a professional figure model and have been in love with modeling since I took my first figure drawing class in 2009. I have modeled for numerous artists, schools, galleries, and workshops and was recently inspired to blog about my experiences.

I enjoy working with artists to help them create their works but modeling is not just a job. For me it is a form of balance and control. I find myself longing for stability in my life and modeling helps me achieve that. When I am not able to model my life becomes slightly more hectic and disorderly but modeling acts as a form of meditation and helps me pull myself together. Modeling allows me to challenge my inner self and the ideas I have about who I am as a person. It involves connecting my mind, body, and spirit in order to feel like I have given justice to the pose and artists.

This blog is a way for me to share my experiences with others, whether you be artists, figure models, art collectors, gallery coordinators, teachers, friends, or just think it is interesting. I do hope you enjoy this blog and I will try to fulfill it to its full potential.
My name is Jamee and I am the creator of Figurative Meditations.
